Have you ever stopped to wonder if indie polishes were worth the price? Take a second to read this.
My teen cousin and I were going through all my polishes to plan the perfect mani for her and she suddenly says to me, “why do you have two of these?” and hands me the above bottles. For a brief second I admittedly thought holy hell I have two BWGP! Aside from black glitter the Pure Ice Turn It Up and Fandom Cosmetics BWGP look practically identical…but this is far from the case. The lower photo shows what a quick sloppy layer looks like, woah crazy different. And the formulas were different as well. Turn It Up’s green glitter went on well but the few silver flecks I got were pulled up to the tip. BWGP had an even distribution and the only reason the middle of the nail looks a little bare was from me blowing on it too hard to dry it quickly. And removal was better with BWGP where I was able to easily and fully remove the glitter with no base coat. The Pure Ice polish took really hard scrubbing and left little green glitters stuck all over my fingers.
So next time you wonder why buy these handmade polishes when I can get one for a buck…you usually get what you pay for!
